Accounting and financial control in the Stereo Guia cooperative of Jipijapa

This study addresses the problem of limited accounting knowledge and its impact on the control and management of financial resources at the Stereo Guía Taxi Cooperative in the city of Jipijapa. This situation can affect transparency and institutional decision-making. Therefore, the objective was to determine how accounting knowledge influences the management of financial resources. The methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, with a descriptive and non-experimental scope, applying surveys to the 103 members and interviews with the cooperative's manager and president. The results showed that 38.83% of the members always keep organized records of income and expenses, 48.54% do so sometimes, and 12.62% never do. Furthermore, 85.44% believe that accounting control always improves financial management, and 64.08% perceive that financial efficiency has improved thanks to the application of accounting practices. In conclusion, accounting and financial control is a key element for institutional efficiency. However, strengthening accounting training and standardizing procedures are needed to consolidate sustainable financial management.
