Abstract

This article analyzes protection measures in cases of domestic violence in Ecuador as one of the main legal mechanisms aimed at safeguarding the safety and integrity of victims facing situations of risk. The study focuses on the limitations affecting the effective implementation of these measures, particularly those related to judicial follow-up, institutional coordination, and the availability of resources to ensure their enforcement. The objective of the research is to analyze protection measures through a bibliographic and documentary review of the Ecuadorian legal framework, specialized legal doctrine, and academic studies on the subject. Methodologically, the research adopts a qualitative bibliographic and documentary approach based on the analysis of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code, the Organic Law for the Prevention and Eradication of Violence against Women, specialized legal doctrine, and scientific literature. The findings show that the Ecuadorian legal system provides a comprehensive regulatory framework for the protection of victims; however, its effectiveness depends on the institutional capacity to implement, monitor, and enforce the protection measures issued by the competent authorities. It is concluded that strengthening interinstitutional coordination, incorporating technological monitoring tools, providing continuous training for justice system operators, and consolidating public policies focused on comprehensive victim protection are essential to ensuring effective judicial protection against domestic violence.
