Rasgos de personalidad del Modelo Big Five y afrontamiento de cuidadores de niños con discapacidad

El Objetivo fue analizar la relación entre los rasgos de personalidad del modelo de los Cinco Grandes y las estrategias de afrontamiento en cuidadores de niños con discapacidad. Es un estudio cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal y correlacional-descriptivo con 36 cuidadores de una institución especializada de Ecuador, seleccionados por conveniencia. Se administraron el CRI-A, el BFI-2-XS y una ficha sociodemográfica, analizados mediante pruebas no paramétricas de Spearman, Mann-Whitney y Kruskal-Wallis en SPSS 27. La muestra estuvo conformada predominantemente por madres con jornadas de 12 horas y redes de apoyo escasas. Las dimensiones de personalidad más elevadas fueron cordialidad y responsabilidad. Las estrategias predominantes fueron solución de problemas, búsqueda de apoyo y reevaluación positiva, coexistiendo con estrategias activas asociadas principalmente a diferencias por sexo y edad; el nivel educativo se vinculó con mayores rangos en reevaluación positiva y solución de problemas. En conclusión, la relación entre personalidad y afrontamiento resultó parcial y contextualmente moderada, sin evidencia de asociación causal directa. Los hallazgos revelan desigualdades estructurales vinculadas al sexo y nivel educativo, subrayando la necesidad de intervenciones psicoeducativas que fortalezcan la regulación emocional, redes de apoyo y la resolución de problemas en esta población.
