Administración de riesgo empresarial como herramienta estratégica para la sostenibilidad de la Asociación El Chial, cantón 24 de Mayo

Enterprise risk management is a strategic necessity for rural production associations due to their exposure to financial, operational, commercial, environmental, and organizational difficulties that can jeopardize their survival and growth. The objective of this study was to analyze enterprise risk management as a strategic tool for the sustainability of the El Chial Association in the 24 de Mayo canton. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach, with a descriptive and correlational scope, a non-experimental design, and a cross-sectional approach. Data were obtained through a systematic review of scientific articles and institutional reports published between 2022 and 2026. The results were further supplemented with information derived from the outreach project "Business Innovation for Sustainable Development in the Southern Zone of Manabí, Phase II." The analysis employed descriptive statistics, principal component analysis, exploratory factor analysis, cluster analysis, and a probability and impact matrix. The results showed that financial risks accounted for 87.5%, operational risks for 81.3%, and strategic risks for 77.1%, while commercial risks represented 68.8% and environmental risks 60.4%. Furthermore, the first two components explained 71.7% of the analyzed variability. It was determined that comprehensive risk management strengthens planning, improves decision-making, prioritizes preventive actions, and promotes economic, social, and organizational sustainability.
